When is a business receiver needed?

A receiver appointed to take over a business may end up being appointed solely to take possession of receivables or inventory. The receiver may also be appointed to take over the entire business, this type of receiver is known as an equity receiver. The receiver operates all aspects of the business including filing tax returns, customer relations, employees, creditors, litigation, and distribution to secured creditors in order of priority.
